While K2 Sports already donates over $100,000 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation each year on behalf of our women’s specific product lines, the K2 Ski Alliance Team felt it could, and should, do even more.
For the 2005-2006 ski season, they created special edition skis, poles and ski bag named Just Cause, which prominently featured the pink ribbon graphic motif on each item. One percent of the price of each Just Cause product was donated to the BCRF above and beyond K2’s standard yearly donation.
Having seen the success of this program in raising additional money to fight breast cancer, K2 Bike is considering a summer addition to the Just Cause family. We are developing an innovative new graphic process that would initially be used for this very special, limited-edition model. We'd like to give this bike a photo-realistic representation of a single pink ribbon, similar to the Just Cause ski poles, but looped around many of the tubes of a pearl white frame.
What style of bicycle do you think should we choose to form the foundation of the first K2 Bike Just Cause model? Should it be an accessible, casual comfort bike, a rugged mountain bike designed to explore, a sleek road bike that melts away the miles, or some other type? Please share your thoughts with us, and contribute to the direction of this very important program to help in the fight against breast cancer.
